PETS of the MONTH...2014

PET OF THE MONTH - NOVEMBER 2014 (NEWSLETTER)

Squishy has joined my list of favorite pooches. I'm very picky about who gets into that club!

Every day when I arrive for her daily walk she greets me at the door with a wiggle and lots of energy -
ready for sniffing out the neighborhood.
Later when she's pooped out (literally.. haha) we cuddle on the park bench at the end before we head home.
Together we just watch the world go by breathing in the fresh air.

Then we arrive home and I write in a note or two for her Mommy.
Squishy sits on my lap and watches me scribble out my words in ink.

Now that it is winter, I take my coat off when I sit to write.
Squishy has recently decided that it's her duty to fluff up my coat during this time and lay down into it -warming it before I head back out to the cold... ... she's so thoughtful!

PET OF THE MONTH - DECEMBER 2014 (NEWSLETTER)

GUIMAUVE (GUI GUI)
French for "Marshmallow" - 9 year old Maltese/Bichon

What can I say about Gui Gui? He IS a little marshmallow that loves to be held and carried around. He's sweet and mushy. Gui Gui's mommy spoils him but isn't that why we have them in our lives?
To spoil and love them like no other?

He's not big on face licking but when he looks straight into your eyes, you can feel him kissing your soul. Because Gui Gui is a pampered pet, he expects to be carried up the stairs. He has no problem going down them but going back up just seems too daunting. Gui Gui will bark and bark but I just ignore him. Eventually he conquers his fears and arrives at the top all on his own!!! You should see the pride in his walk after his victory! LOL Gui Gui KNOWS he is "All That" and more!

PET OF THE MONTH - SEPTEMBER 2014 (NEWSLETTER)

These two kids are very soft and sweet.
But, that is where the similarities end.

Mr. Pickles is a character... he doesn't know that he has limits and boundaries. He jumps and climbs everywhere. I have found him on the kitchen table (photo), bathroom counter, bathtub, and headboard on our bed. He finds toys in the house we thought were lost forever, takes all they toys he can from the other dogs, then puts them in a safe place to guard them! He bosses around the big dogs and makes a doggone good referee!

Tinkerbell on the other hand is quiet and loves to lounge around and watch the world go by. She loves nice warm laps or large windows with a cushion to lay on. A good spot on the porch in the fresh air with a wide view suits her just fine as well. She also loves a good nap and a nice cold drink of water from time to time.

PET OF THE MONTH - OCTOBER 2014 (NEWSLETTER)

pet-of-the-month-dog-walking

Mia is a sweet feminine little girl.

Her "Mommy" adopted her and gave her the best home ever!
She gets professional training, lots of love, many walks and
even 3 cat siblings to play chase with... LOL

When I first met Mia in May of this year she seemed unsure
of herself (she was only adopted the previous November).
Now that she has been around dogs regularly and taken many
regular strolls with her Mom and
my own doggy pack, she has become
more relaxed and even learning now to play.

PET OF THE MONTH - JANUARY 2014 (NEWSLETTER)

MAGGIE (Massachusetts USA)

Maggie SAVED HER "DADDY'S" LIFE !!!!

Tom was walking his eight-year-old dog on the beach near their Weymouth, Massachusetts home on Thursday night when he slipped and fell on a patch of ice. The 70-year-old fell on his head and was knocked unconscious.

Maggie ran to a neighbor’s house and jumped at the door. This alerted the dogs inside, whose human came to investigate the commotion. Joe Tanko recognized Maggie, and sensed trouble.

“So I ran to the door and I saw Maggie with no Tom at the end of the leash,” he explained.

Joe found his neighbor lying in a snow bank and called an ambulance.

Tom suffered a brain hemorrhage and major head trauma. Doctors told his wife the if he had been outside much longer, he probably wouldn’t have made it.

“Your husband’s alive because the dog went to that door,” Christine Bernadinelli said doctors told her.

Tom underwent surgery at the hospital, and is currently in the intensive care unit. He is speaking again, which doctors believe is a good sign of his recovery.
